Verified (Excused) Absences/ Lateness

The following absences are considered verified (excused) with appropriate documentation: 

• Medical/Dental – note signed, with date and reason

• Family bereavement – verified

• College visitation (9th and 10th grade) – verified

• College visitation exceeding three (3) days (11th and 12th grade) - verified

• Written parent permission – one (1) day per semester & within 5 days of absence 

• Driver’s license examination - verified

• Required court attendance - verified

• Suspension from school

• IEP requirement – in accordance with IDEA
