AP Exam Registration

AP 2022-2023 Registration Bulletin

 

Taking the Advanced Placement exam is the culminating activity of every AP course. Even though taking the AP exam is optional, Eastern Regional High School encourages all students to sign up for the exams of their respective AP courses. Scoring well on an AP exam can often earn students college credit and potentially save a significant amount of college tuition.

Online exam registration will begin on Thu, Oct 1, 2022 at 12:15 AM and end on Sun, Nov 1, 2022 at 11:59 PM. 

The AP exam registration process is broken into two steps.  Both steps must be completed in order to have AP exams ordered:

Step 1: Begin the process by registering at www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/310417. Here you will indicate the exams you wish to take. After this process is complete, you will be asked to pay for the exams.  Once payment is made, you will receive instructions for completing Step 2 of the process.  You will also receive your AP exam join codes, which are an essential part of the AP program.  Keep them in a secure location, as you will need them for Step 2, as well as on exam day.  Please note that all exam fees will be paid online to Total Registration, so be sure to have a debit card or credit card available before beginning registration. 

Step 2: Please visit MyAP.CollegeBoard.org and log in to your College Board account.  Create a new account if you do not already have one.  Once logged in, go to the AP Classroom page, where you will see each of your current AP classes listed.  In each class, click on the link to “Register.”  Then, use the join code(s) provided to you by Total Registration in order to enroll in your AP Courses and indicate your intentions regarding taking the AP Exams.  Please note that The College Board automatically defaults to indicating that you plan to take the AP exam.  If you DO NOT wish to test, you must select “NO” in the drop-down menu.  Eastern can only order exams that are designated in both your Total Registration and College Board accounts.  If the information in these two accounts does not match, we will not be able to order an exam for you.  

This year, each AP exam costs $97.00.  Students who are approved for the Federal Free/Reduced Lunch program and require financial assistance should contact Sheri Lattimer in Guidance to learn more.

 

Important dates for the registration process:

  • Oct 1, 2022 - Registration Begins

  • Nov 1, 2022 - Registration Ends.  Registration after this date is not guaranteed and may incur an additional fee.

  • Nov 14, 2022 - Last day to cancel an exam and receive a full refund.  Exams canceled after this date will incur a $40 late cancellation fee for each exam per College Board.
